Over the Rainbow

Our precious friends who have crossed over to Rainbow Bridge...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thank you again for your kindness and support yesterday - my wife and I both really appreciate it. And thank you for the offer to put Frankie on your Rainbow Bridge.

I knew it would be difficult bringing Rusty to Scrub-a-Pup without Frankie and it was...but your thoughtfulness and compassion made it so much easier. Bringing Frankie in for his monthly bath is one of the many activities I already do and will miss with him. As your staff well knows, Frankie had an incredible personality - everybody who met him really did remember him.

I'm grateful that we still have Rusty but there is definitely a void in our lives. Frankie was our first baby - and even though we are now proud parents of 2 year old twin boys, nothing will ever replace him or the experience of watching him grow up and having him as a companion.

I'm also including a photo of Frankie with Rusty - it is one of my all time favorites.

Best,

David

Now happy and whole running with the best of them.
We will miss you dearly my friend!

Dear Friends at Scrub-a-pup,

Devo lost his fight with cancer on Friday. We thought we had checked the progress of his cancer, but it came roaring back early last week. He never took his eyes off me for 4 days and I knew then it was time for the last and kindest mercy. I will miss him more than I could ever describe here.

Devo's (and Cosmo's) experience at Scrub-a-Pup were some of the highlights of their lives. The kindness that was displayed by everyone connected with Scrub-a-Pup was obviously rooted in an unbelievable love of dogs and for that matter, all animals. I also wanted to thank each of you for being his friend, pack member or just someone who made his acquaintance briefly and realized what a pleasure having a sweet, balanced dog could be.

It was your recommendation that led us to the Edmonds-Woodway Vet clinic and Dr. Earls. We will always be grateful for their kindness and care.

I have gathered a library of material and knowledge about canine cancer these last few month. Don’t ever hesitate to ask if there is any help or information I can provide.

Best Always,

Ken Told

  • A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.
  • You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog will give you a look that says, 'Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that!
  • Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole
