Pasado's Adopt-a-Thon
Scrub-a-Pup Steps Up...Dogs Get Homes and Snow Cones

Hard work does pay off! After months of planning, gathering donations, advertising and preparing, this event was a smash hit! When I got the request to do this about four months ago I could hear the excitement in the voices of the staff at the dog wash. Carla, Larry, Maya and all of the staff at Edmonds Scrub-a-Pup came together to create, and produce one of the most successful events that we have had. After their hard work and with much dedication, they pulled this off with flying colors! Not only did we have a deluxe doggie daycare for the Pasado pups to play in all day, but their were raffle tickets, a lunch spread and a nice place for the kitties to hang out.

Distributors donated food and toys, local merchants gave everything from adorable kitchen dishes to a gold bone charm necklace from Ben Bridge, a (very) high-end jeweler. Scrub-a-Pup donated great stuff as well, with one of the grand prizes being doggie day care for one lucky pet lover's pooch! The shop sold raffle tickets and charged admission at the door, which was all in benefit of the Pasado’s.

The humans behind this event are huge supporters of Pasado’s. Not only have they adopted three of our highest needs dogs, but they continually gather donations, and publicize Pasado’s mission.

More potential love to come!

A wonderful couple who had been searching for just the right dog for their lives stumbled upon Melvin, one of the seniors Pasado's had rescued from shelter euthanasia. shown interest and applied for our dog, Melvin. They said they looked through hundreds of black dogs on the internet, and when they saw Melvin, they “just knew”. On Saturday morning, they called multiple times in route to make sure we were aware that they were coming to see Melvin. We love to see this kind of excitement! These two animal angels ended up falling in love with not only Melvin, but Lindy too!

Making this possible once again were the dedicated and devoted volunteers. Jackie passed out flyers at the Farmer’s Market. Donna T., Pam and Donna G. did the transport and care of our kitties and the pack of pups that came all the way from Pasado's farm. We even had a human sized dancing dog on the corner hailing traffic! John, one of our phenomenal volunteers fosters five of Pasado’s dogs! We call John’s house, the “dog town annex”. He brought his fabulous five to the event, where they all had a blast! Kindie, another dog town devotee, was implemental in helping Melvin and Lindy meet their new family. Ann Marie worked with the Pasado pack, walking and loving on them all day long.

One of the highlights of the Adopt-a-thon was the snow cone machine! When Carla told me she was renting this machine for doggie snow cones, I thought it sounded at the least, a bit hysterical! This was the absolute cutest thing, and the dogs loved it! Each of the dogs were very polite in waiting their turn in the snow cone line!

One of the Pasado foster dogs, Scooter, drew a lot of attention rolling around the event! Scooter is paralyzed from the middle of his body back. Pasado’s recently received the donation of a dog stroller. He has a wheel chair, but the stroller allows him a new dimension of freedom. Scooter hung out cruising around in his stroller and soaking up lots of love. We are forever grateful for the magnitude of this dedication for the betterment of animals.
